Rory McIlroy has taken a dominant lead in the first half of round 1 on Thurday after delivering his longest major birdie run. Four time Major winner McIlroy is looking to grasp his first Major since 2014. McIlroy, began off the 10th tee and reeled off four consecutive birdies from the 12th through 15th holes. This comes as a big start from the golfer since he has not led a Major round since 2014. McIlroy is now on top the leaderboard alone following his finish of Round 1
Jordan Spieth however, seems to have struggled a fair bit finishing his round 2 over par. Will Zalatoris and Tom Huge currently sit in joint second position after their first rounds.
