Former golfer Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler recently talked about the possibility of Tiger Woods winning his 6th Majors trophy during an interview with Boyle Sports. Chandler believes this “might be Tiger’s last” event before he tees up with veteran golfers like Davis Love and others.
However, he critically called out Woods “no s*x” commitment as noted by his close friend during an interview with the New York Post. According to his friend, Woods is solely interested in developing his game before the Masters tournament, as he doesn’t want to repeat the 2023 incident.
For that, Woods is willing to go hard in practicing and taking care of himself, but most importantly committed to “no s*x until the tournament is over.” While this commitment may seem to have a serious tone, Chandler couldn’t help calling out Woods noting, “Tiger has had 55 years worth of s*x in 20 years.”
He further added, that he “is not that interesting” in the greens anymore, especially as far as The Masters is concerned. While Woods’s performance has indeed taken a blow, the 15x major champion declared he’s pain-free and healthy to compete in the event.
Last year, he was forced to withdraw as his pain started aggravating. Similar cases happened in the 2024 events, where he quit or did not participate due to health issues. Despite, his shaky records on the field, Chandler is not removing his name from the winner’s list yet.
I don’t want to say he’s not going to be competitive this year because you never ever know with him…You hesitate to write him off, but I can’t see it.Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler as per Andy Roberts of Golf Magic.
The Masters will be Woods’s first competitive event in 2024, since withdrawing from the Genesis Invitational mid-way due to flu. While the event itself is a cause for celebration, the fans will also be focused on Woods’s performance throughout the event, especially how he fares health-wise.
Tiger Woods former coach Butch Harmon admits he didn’t want GOAT to get selected for The Masters
Tiger Woods former coach Butch Harmon, also known as one of the legendary coaches, admitted that he didn’t want him to participate in The Masters due to health concerns. Since his accident in 2021, Woods has undergone several surgeries and rehabilitation. He even was forced to quit mid-game due to health issues.
Given Augusta National’s tough course, Harmon feared it would worsen Woods’s condition and he may not be able to walk the greens. Although he commended his tough mentality and challenging nature, he wished for the golfer to not get selected for the event instead.
I really wish he hadn’t made the cut because I didn’t think he could walk another 18 holes, and it turned out he couldn’t…He knows how to get around Augusta, but the big question is, will his body allow him to become Tiger Woods again?Butch Harmon as per Johnny Percival.
It will undoubtedly be interesting to see Woods handle the course and if he can get into the top scorers during the event. The tournament starts on 11 April and will end on 14 April. Apart from Woods, the course will welcome golfers like Patrick Cantlay, Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Aberg, and many others.
