“I have no regrets” – Andy Ogletree backs his decision to join LIV Golf as his PGA Tour suspension continues

Andy Ogletree is a banned player on the PGA Tour and has been for quite some time. Since then the golfer had to find other avenues to ply his trade and showcase his skills and abilities. One thing for sure is that the fallout of LIV Golf vs PGA Tour has been the hardest for the players who had to choose between the two premier golfing circuits at the moment.

Playing in the African-Asian region – Egypt, Andy Ogletree got his first victory by clinching the Asian Tour’s International Series Egypt which came with World Ranking Points too. Egypt, really? Yes, to be frank, Andy didn’t have anywhere else left to go because of his suspension by the PGA Tour.

Andy couldn’t withhold his happiness and TBH, why should he? “This is amazing, just incredible,” Ogletree stated. “I have always been a huge fan of match play, and that is kind of what it came to in the end; it was basically a two-man race. I just tried to keep matching what [Wiesberger] was doing, I kept making a lot of putts.”

Andy Ogletree joined LIV Golf in June due to a lack of playing opportunities because of the shunning by the PGA. A gruesome injury held back the 2019 U.S. Amateur Champ from competing regularly, and the funny part is that the PGA has banned Andy because of his affiliation with LIV Golf even though he isn’t a PGA Tour member.

“I have no regrets,” – says Ogletree talking to SI regarding his decision to join LIV. “It gave me somewhere to play. It gave me the opportunity to get into the Asian Tour as well. My big thing was I just wanted a guaranteed place to play”. LIV hence has at least done something good in its own way and Ogletree definitely felt content with his choice.
