Billy Walters furiously questioned if Phil Mickelson has lost his mind, “Have you lost your f***ing mind?” in the book where he alleges the golf star of Ryder Cup betting. He even pulled in an example of former Cincinnati Reds manager, Pete Rose. He became famous for his gambling allegations in the sports world.

Walters said that Mickelson is now seen as “a modern-day Arnold Palmer” and he wants no part of it. Following Walters’ exchange with Lefty in 2012, there was no further talk about Ryder Cup betting. Although, Walter shares that he is not sure if Mickelson used another gambling source to fulfill his desire.

As the betting allegations erode the social world, Mickelson on Thursday made a statement that he never bet on any Ryder Cup team but was rather fond of “friendly wager on the course”. Mickelson stated that he would never do something that undermined “the integrity of the game” he loves so much.

To get rid of his gambling addiction, Mickelson accepted professional help. He sought out counseling and was “fully committed to therapy” which ultimately helped him move forward from his past mistakes. According to reports, Mickelson has lost millions on bets over the years in sports like baseball, NFL, etc.

Following the latest betting accusations, Mickelson expressed that he has always been “very open about my gambling addiction…conveyed my remorse, took responsibility…” It is unclear whether Lefty has really bet $400k on the Ryder Cup team, but as of now, he has denied such allegations.
