Brooks Koepka will enjoy this win for sure! The LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah was won on Sunday in Saudi Arabia by the 32-year-old golfer from America after he sank a birdie putt on the third hole of the playoff.

Despite a solid opening round of 62 by Brooks Koepka, Uihlein took the lead after a second-round 63 at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club. However, the US golfer was at his best on Sunday and fought back hard to win the Championship.

This is Koepka‘s first win since rising to the top of the PGA Tour in February 2021, when he won the WM Phoenix Open. The 32-year-old’s win earned him a $4 million share of the tournament prize money.

The massive prize money of $4 million meant the four-time major champion earned more than a treble of his total earnings during the 2021-22 PGA Tour season. According to the Tour website – the golfer earned $1.3 million across all the 16 events he has featured this summer.

However, his journey to the top has not been an easy one. The last few years have been quite bumpy for him as he has suffered multiple injuries which have kept him out of the course as well. He revealed that he “dislocated and crushed” his right knee after tearing his left patellar tendon in 2019.

“I blew my knee out and my foot was pointed almost backward and sideways,” an emotional Koepka told reporters.

“The last two years, haven’t been fun. It’s been a long road. I didn’t know if my career was over for a half-second … I wasn’t sure I was going to play. So it’s nice to be able to come back and be able to win.”

Brooks Koepka also won the respective leaderboard with his brother Chase Koepka, Uihlein, and Jason Kokrak. This means the younger sibling will have a new fancy car in his garage.

“Honestly to me the big thing today was getting the team wins. I told my brother I’d buy him a Lambo [Lamborghini] if he won the team thing, so now I’ve got to go buy one.”
