Recently, a new debate sparked on Twitter for which golfer fans would choose- and Cameron Smith seemed to win it. Golf Digest recently asked all golf fans, if there were to be a 10-foot putt for $1 million, who they would choose to make it. The question garnered quite the answers in the comment section. The fans were given a choice of 5 golfers- Cameron Smith, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Nelly Korda or Rory McIlroy.

Cameron Smith is currently the 2022 Players Championship and the 2022 Open Championship, and has been having a fantastic season. Warding off a lot of the top tier golfers, Smith has been having a fantastic year. Justin Thomas on the other hand is a 5 time PGA Tour winner, and even won the PGA Championship this year. The former world no. 1 has shown nerves of steel and given great performances under pressure.

Jordan Spieth is quite an interesting and worthy choice for the shot. Spieth has had quite the record, tying the 72-hole record set by Tiger Woods in 1997 and became the second youngest golfer to win the Masters. Spieth has not won a Tournament in some time, but the golfer is highly ranked amongst the field. Rory McIlroy has been long awaiting the victory of another tournament, but his second place showing at the Masters tournament this year means that he has had quite the consistent performance.

Nelly Korda, the American pro golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour, is currently one of the best women golfers. Winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last year, Korda is also the winner of the 2022 Women’s US Open and the Evian Championship. Korda is known for some of the greatest shots under pressure, making her one of the favourites for the position.

Cameron Smith seemed to be the favourite golfer of choice for many people in the comments section. On the other hand Nelly Korda was another favourite choice, seeing how well she works under pressure. Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy were not that popular amongst the golfers, especially after Rory’s disappointing performance at the Open.
