While the PGA Tour schedule has almost reached its end, the action in golf continues. The major focus of golfers and fans is on the prestigious Ryder Cup, scheduled to take place this year in late September. However, there are some who are not involved with the tournament directly and are taking a different approach. LIV golfer Cameron Smith is one of those. The Aussie will now make a return to the DP World Tour.

Smith, who is 30 years old, would abandon his tour and follow it up with a shocking switch to LIV Golf. On the Saudi-backed circuit, the golfer has enjoyed three victories since his move. He is now eyeing competing in two more events after the finale of his current tour. Smith will now enter the Australia PGA Championship and the Australia Open.

In the past few years, Cameron Smith has emerged as a top contender in golf. His victory at the 2022 Open Championship showed his incredible ability to compete against the very best. He would later leave the fans stunned in their tracks as he too joined LIV Golf. Since then, he has won three times and made respectable finishes in the majors this year. He is now eyeing winning the Australian Open, a title that has eluded him more.

Smith will enter the Australian PGA Championship as the defending champion. He has won this event on three occasions, but his sights are well and truly set on the other tournament. “I’ve been fortunate to have a few PGAs, haven’t quite got the Open yet so that’s something that want, and I’ll be working hard to get it done,” he said.

With three LIV events left to play, Smith will be hoping to lead his side towards another victory. They won the recent LIV Bedminster tournament and will be eyeing back-to-back wins. Following this, he will have a chance to shine at the Hong Kong Open before traveling home for the big ones.
