Golf may not be the top sport that comes to mind when considering weight loss. Instead of that, one could consider engaging in weightlifting, playing basketball, or going cycling. Playing recreational sports is what DJ Khaled credits for his recent weight loss, especially noting the effects he has seen after playing golf.
His overall weight loss amounts to approximately 25 pounds, and according to reports, he lost approx. 20 pounds after starting to play the game. Khaled’s love for golf is so profound that he has partnered with the 2023 Ryder Cup. Guidonia, Italy has been chosen as the location for the event, which will be held between September 28 and October 1.
During the promotion of the partnership, the musician, aged 47, expressed his adoration for the game and revealed how it aided in his weight loss journey. According to Khaled, he managed to drop 20 pounds by participating in golf during the previous month. According to his recent interview with US Weekly, he shared that he has shed an extra four pounds.
“This is a story that keeps being remembered all the time.” You are continuously improving,” Khaled said to the magazine. “Or there may be days when you feel just okay. But even during those times, you still need to find a calm place to be.”
DJ Khaled shed almost 50 pounds in 2019 after starting to play golf
Playing golf every day aids Khaled in staying committed to his usual schedule, as he stated. In 2019, he shed nearly 50 pounds and continues to find joy in playing either nine or 18 holes at the driving range. Additionally, he performed various tasks during his time there. It brings him joy. The successful operation of his business is attributed to his capacity to efficiently run it, deriving joy from socializing with friends or business associates, and dedication to persevering and accomplishing tasks when working independently.
Daily, he can opt for either walking or utilizing a golf cart to carry out his work duties and handle emails and phone calls. He said, “It’s so much more enjoyable, like [being around] the sun. “It purifies me. It’s similar to swimming without actually swimming in the water.” Joe Macro, a certified coach via the Titleist Performance Institute and an expert in golf fitness, claims that playing golf is a great method to reduce weight.
According to Marco’s statement in 2021 to the website Fun Golf UK, a golfer (no matter their skill level) walks more than 10,000 steps and covers around 6.5 miles over 18 holes of golf. Although it may be challenging to grasp, when you consider that the average adult takes around 3,000 to 4,000 steps daily, engaging in golf presents an excellent opportunity for weight loss.
