Golf star Dustin Johnson once talked about how he had to make a public statement after rumors of his breakup took over the internet by storm. He and Paulina Gretzky got married in 2022 after celebrating their 10-year engagement with his two sons.
Johnson and Paulina met for the first time in 2009 after Janet Gretzky got paired with the golfing star for a tournament. Even now, the couple thanks Janet for being their cupid and for supporting their relationship. Just like any couple, they went through many ups and downs in life prior to saying “Yes, I do” on April 23.
In 2018 there was a rumor about the couple breaking up due to Paulina’s unprecedented action. She suddenly took down all posts with Dustin Johnson, leaving the fans worried about their relationship status. Although the rumors were proved wrong, the fans thought the couple had a serious fallout.
The duo started dating in 2013 and two years after that they welcomed their first child Tatum. In 2017 Paulina gave birth to their second child River as the couple celebrated their life being parents of two kids. The rumor about their relationship breakup started a year later and got shut down by both personalities through media presence.

Paulina Gretzky, daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, labeled Dustin Johnson as a “really cute guy” and “an endearing gentleman” after their first meeting in 2009. She described him as her best friend and life partner noting, “We’re just there for each other”.
Johnson addressed the 2018 rumors as he took to his Twitter account to note that every relationship goes through ups and downs but despite all that they love each other and “are committed to being a family”. He shut down the rumors from spreading any further. Paulina also made a public statement, confirming the rumors to be wrong.
Following the incident, the 34-year-old actress showed up during the Ryder Cup event in Paris to celebrate DJ and his partner Rickie Fowler’s win in the first round. Their relationship has been stable thereafter. Paulina has often been seen on the greens to support Johnson in his games.
DJ never hesitated to show off his affection in front of the media. He thanked Wayne Gretzky for being a pillar for him and making him understand that there are many things in life much more important than a career. The former World No.1 admitted that for him, his career always came first.
But now it’s his wife Paulina and his kids, “They’ll always be the most important.” DJ has often been seen with Gretzky and his family on the greens during charity events. Due to his closeness with ‘The Great One’, Gretzky came to be known as the “DJ Whisperer” though the latter denied such possibilities.
Even through the LIV-PGA war, Paulina and the Gretzky family supported Johnson in his decision. They often share updates about celebrating special occasions or vacations together with their kids. The duo’s relationship has undoubtedly become stronger than ever after going through several hardships over the years.
