Matt Fitzpatrick’s veteran caddie Foster was arguably more emotional than his boss as he finally got to enjoy victory after 40 years of carrying the bags of some of the sport’s biggest stars. He told Sky Sports, “It’s unbelievably emotional”. “I’m glad someone has got that giant monkey off my back.” “I knew he was good enough to win a major and this week he has played unbelievable and he’s not put his best, which is incredible really.” “He did my head in missing a few short putts,” he laughed. “He didn’t need to win by four. One was enough.”
