Golf great Tiger Woods has won everything that was on the plate for him. Ever since a young age, he showcased immense skills on the greens, drawing the attention of many. At the age of 47, Woods now uses his knowledge to design new courses around the world. He recently did one in Mexico where the World Wide Technology Championship is underway. However, the fans seem to be unimpressed by the course.

Woods has been away from the spotlight since April after he withdrew from the Masters. His knee injury has kept him out for several months. The veteran though seems to be gearing up for a return and was seen practicing with his son Charlie. The five-time Masters champion was spotted at the greens of his designed course, the El Cardonal golf course.

The course though is seeming to give him bad reviews for his work. PGA Tour would call this course a “masterpiece” while showing aerial views of the playing field. The community though has other ideas as they have not praised it. Even fellow professional Michael Kim called him out and made a bold mark against Woods.

Kim claimed that the course ended up being a course fit for Woods’ game alone. The course which is now hosting its first PGA Tour event is proving to be a tough break for the players as many have been struggling in the $8.2 million purse event.

Tiger Woods is no stranger to setbacks from the golfing community. Given his career accolades, there were bound to be few who might have a little disliking towards him. However, it is fair to say he would not have hoped the golfing fans turn against him for a new course designed by him.

Ever since videos of the field were seen online, social media users started criticizing it while giving their word regarding it. One user, who did not seem to be a fan of the project called it “Horrendous design“. Here are some reactions regarding this course from Twitter (now called X) below:

This also comes a few days after Woods suffered another loss to rival Greg Norman. The LIV CEO was recently named the Best Golf Designer for 2023 at the World Golf Awards 2023 ahead of Woods and the legendary Jack Nicklaus. This gives the idea that designing a golf course is not as easy as it seems.

Woods though will be hoping to put all this negativity aside as he prepares for a massive return. Speculations regarding a return at the Hero World Challenge this year have increased after he kept one spot open. Whether he will fill up that spot, is something to look out for.
