In a bizarre turn of events, golfer Hal Sutton found his name in the death section of the official PGA Tour magazine. The 14-time PGA Tour winner has since refuted this claims and reassured his fans and followers that he is alive and well.

The 65-year-old veteran shockingly found out that he had been accidentally placed in the obituaries section of the magazine. This left the fans shocked who tried to reach out to him while some started paying their condolences to this development.

Thе PGA Tour magazine had listed him as dead on January 19, 2024. Hatton would take to his X account to clear up this error committed by the golfing body. In the post, he also thanked the fans who checked on him after they thought he had passed away.

So far the PGA Tour has not made any comments regarding this error. This major slip though send shockwaves across many golf fans who thought they had just lost another veteran of the game.

Since the wrong information of Hal Sutton’s death broke out, it was not surprising to see the fans get worried. After clarifying this on X, the 1983 PGA Championship winner would express his gratitude for the people who rushed in to check on him.

This post from Sutton led to a former PGA Tour winner in Mark Iye check up on him and ask him whether he knew who was behind his mess up. Unfortunately, Sutton had no answer for that.

I don’t know but it was a reminder to be grateful for life. A lot of people checked on me so I was thankful for that.

The date mentioned in the PGA Tour magazine actually saw the world of golf lose one of their veterans. Jack Burke Jr., a 16-time PGA Tour winner passed away at the age of 100 on that day.

The fans though now do not have to worry about Sutton and can breathe a sigh of relief. Speaking on Sutton, the former US Ryder Cup captain is currently busy with designing the Darmor Club golf course in Colombus, Texas and would probably like to forget this incident and move on with this project.
