Golf legend Tiger Woods has been in the game for a long time, after starting his pro career at a very early age. During that time, Tiger Woods married model Elin Nordegren in 2004- a bond which eventually ended in 2010. Nodregen was earlier a model in Sweden.

Tiger and Elin met for the first time at the 2001 Open Championships, after which Woods spent a year to get the couple to indtroduce Elin to him. In November 2003 Nodregen and Woods attended the President’s Cup tournament in South Africa together. Just after they announced their engagement as Woods proposed to her at the Shamwari Game Reserve. While things did turn sour for the couple in 2009, their wedding was a magical one and cost $1.5 million. But the problem was not the money, it was more about privacy.

For the wedding, according to unnamed sources, Woods reportedly brought 500 red flowers from abroad. Nordegren donned a beige suit to the wedding while Woods, 28, wore an off-white sleeveless gown. The Sandy Lane resort and golf course had gone to extreme lengths to protect the wedding from all and any kinds of journalists. Over 120 guests were invited to the wedding, including Oprah Winfrey and former NBA players Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley.

The single helicopter charter firm on the island claimed that it was fully booked, meaning that Woods took this precaution to prevent reporters and photographers from flying over the event. Additionally, he rented out the entire hotel, which, according to the hotel’s website, included around 200 rooms with nightly rates ranging from $700 to $8,000 each. The ultimate aim for Woods was to maintain privacy for his wedding, and it seems that they had gone through with it quite well- since no picture from the wedding and the ceremony was leaked.
