Shota Hayafuji went viral at Augusta National in 2021
Shota Hayafuji was the talk of the golfing world when he offered a bow to Augusta National following his employers’ Masters win back in 2021. And now he is making news once again as he had every US caddie sign his body after the event.
The video was shared all across the internet as the caddie found himself at the centre of attraction. He later went on to say. “I bowed to the course mainly because I was thankful. I wasn’t thinking about doing it and it just happened — like an instinct.”
Coming to Hideki Matsuyama‘s performance at the Presidents Cup – the Japanese golfer was up against Sam Burns during the event.
The World No.2 golfer was on a level with Burns during singles play on Sunday as the duo reached par-4 18th at Quail Hollow with one last chance to earn that vital point.
Although Team International was trailing 13-8 against Team US, it could have been a crucial and a big win for the International, however an awful break during the final hole – went against them and the Japanese golfer.
However, Burns also failed to make most of the final shot, and at the end of the day both the golfers tied the match for a half-point each.
