In the latest war of words regarding the amount in golf, two former Ryder Cup teammates Ian Poulter and Padraig Harrington got into a heated exchange. The two European golfers got locked into a spicy battle on social media following Poulter’s comment regarding the guaranteed paychecks.

In the world of golf, the money involved is considered to be huge. When compared to several other sports, golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have time and again found themselves in the top 10 highest-earning athletes of the year. While Mickelson was second in the highest earners of golf this year, this topic of money involved originated after the English golfer replied to a story on X.

The world of golf has seen a lot of ups and downs this year. The major of them was the merger announcement. Despite this coming together of LIV Golf and PGA Tour, some golfers still have bitter relationships with each other. How deep the relationship between Ian Poulter and Padraig Harrington is something that is unconfirmed/ However, this exchange signals that they are not the best of friends.

Poulter’s reaction to the story from Alistar Tait caught the attention of Harrington. The three-time major champion recently spoke on the golf ball rollback on why it was for the greater good of the game. He also dropped a crucial take regarding LIV Golf and how they can better their quality. The Irish golfer is now curious to learn what receipts Pouler will show.

In his reply he would start off by saying to forget about the politics, he is eager to see what he will do. He also urged his former teammate to not come up with an excuse of him going first and then he (Poulter) will.

Go for it. I’m curious for one. Forget politics, I’m nosey. For all those wondering, appearance fees generally require a number of commitments outside of the golf. But one would not happen without the other... Don’t comeback with you go first or I will if you will. We’re not 6 years old.
