The situation regarding betting and gambling has become a key point in sports. Many fans, players, and even some organizations do not shy from placing a wager on it. Stories of placing bets on golf have also been from time to time. According to Jon Rahm, this happens “every single round”. He has also urged the PGA Tour to take some action on this matter.

Rahm who will be taking part in the FedEx Cup final – the Tour Championship, said this before the event. He spoke on this matter after being asked about the incident that took place last weekend regarding Max Homa. The American golfer was seen disturbed by a fan who had placed a bet on him. Homa would keep his cool and drain his effort in, marking the fan losing the $3 bet he placed on the golfer.

I feel like we hear it every single round. That happens way more often than you guys may hear. I mean, it’s very very present,” Rahm said in his conference. The 2023 Masters winner expressed how the fans in golf are much closer to the players while playing and this means they can hear them clearly. He later admitted that it would be difficult for the association to control a huge crowd gathered at the course.

The golf fans and players are now gearing up for the final leg of the FedEx Cup in the form of the Tour Championship. The third leg will see the top thirty players in rankings face off in the quest to become the FedEx Cup champion. The format of the tournament has been widely discussed by fans online as some claim that it was a total waste. Jon Rahm has now joined them and claimed he is not a fan of it either.

I don’t think it’s the best (format) we can come up with,” he said. As per Rahm, one bad week of golf should not be able to represent the whole year of the player. According to the tournament structure since 2019, the player ranked number one starts at 10-under. Those who rank near 26th to 30th at the bottom start with even par, something Rahm has claimed to be “unfair”.

As per this rule, current world number one Scottie Scheffler will start the event in the first place. Just behind him in second will be Viktor Hovland, who won the BMW Championship recently. Meanwhile, Rahm, who is fourth in the leaderboard, will start the tournament at 6-under. He will be hoping for a good start to give himself a chance to take away the FedEx Cup trophy.
