Jon Rahm officially SUSPENDED by PGA Tour following shocking $600 million switch to LIV Golf
Jon Rahm will now not be able to play at any PGA Tour events from the 2024 season following his move to LIV Golf.

The past week in golf saw a monumental shift in sporting history as Jon Rahm decided to join LIV Golf. The current Masters champion shocked the fans when he decided to join the breakaway tour on a $600 million deal. Following this move, the PGA Tour has now suspended the Spanish international.
During the speculations of this move, there was an interesting development regarding the upcoming American Express Championship in 2024. Rahm, the defending champion of the event, was not included in the playing field. He has now been suspended from all PGA Tour events.
The suspension of Rahm not only bars him from any PGA Tour from now on but his results from the FedEx playoffs and eligibility points lists have also been canceled. As a result of this, every golfer in this standings moved up one place. In a memo sent to the players by the PGA Tour, they stated this was done “due to his association with a series of unauthorized tournaments“.

Jon Rahm’s suspension opens doors for other golfers
When one door closes, another opens up. This is something many have heard in their life. Jon Rahm’s shocking exit from the PGA Tour sent shockwaves across the golfing community. However, his exit led to suspension from the PGA Tour which has now opened up doors for other golfers.
His suspension from the tour has now given opportunities to two golfers, Mackenzie Hughes and Carl Yuan. These two golfers are set to receive the most benefit from the suspension of Rahm as they significantly moved up the FedEx rankings.
Hughes was ranked at 51st in the rankings. Following this action from the PGA Tour, he has now moved up to 50th, meaning that he has qualified for all the signature events in the 2024 season. Meanwhile, Yuan who signed for Q-school this week has jumped up to the 125th spot. This means that he will have a PGA Tour card for the next year.
As for Rahm, he can now appear in the majors due to his OWGR rankings and previous results. However, he had claimed that he wanted to appear in the PGA Tour and DP World Tour events. This development now makes things further interesting and fans are curious to see how he reacts to this action from the renowned circuit.
