How did Justin Doeden cheat at the weekend?

The actions by Justin Doeden at the recent PGA Tour Canada event left many disappointed. A promising player resorting to such unusual tactics stunned everyone. Some are now questioning how was he able to cheat with all the latest technology available at hand.

Doeden would probably have got away with this had a player not spotted him. As per the player, Doeden cheated on his score by entering the wrong score. At the 18th hole on Friday, he claimed that he shot five-under-par. However, the story was something else. Doeden second shot ended up in the water. For this, he got a penalty stroke. The international would eventually end up failing to hit for the par and finished with seven strokes.

According to French, Doeden would ask him for his card to “double-check” some things. As soon as his playing partner saw the scores, he rushed to the officials to report the incident. Had this wrong score stood without anybody noticing, he would have made the cut. As the officials initiated a probe, Doeden withdrew from the tournament.

Doeden has spent a huge amount of his career at the PGA Tour Canada. He turned professional in 2018 and has participated in several tournaments. This year he was involved in 12 tournaments, making the cut on eight occasions and finishing second once. The Tour is not expected to make any statements until the investigation is concluded. Potential punishments would see him being heavily fined and suspended.
