The Masters 2023 concludes on a positive note with Jon Rahm’s triumph
Spanish golfer Jon Rahm truly displayed his potential and worth, winning the 87th Masters at Augusta National. This achievement will be his second major golf tournament win, which he won by a four-shot margin over LIV players Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson.
Although Rahm was initially two shots behind Koepka during the final round, he played in the final pairing and scored three-under-par 69, thus finishing the week at 12 under. Another event that shocked the fans this Masters was the withdrawal of Tiger Woods from the tournament. Woods opted for this decision to withdraw, owing to his physical condition due to injuries. He had made a record by equalling 23rd consecutive cut at Augusta National on Saturday.
Besides this, amateur sensation Sam Bennett tied for third place on six under, with five shots behind Rahm. He is in a similar position to Patrick Cantlay in the tournament and was one of the hot shots to watch out for during the tournament.
Nevertheless, the first major in spring for golf turned out to be a massive treat for the fans, showing some enthralling action and unbelievable results all throughout. While no one had really expected Tiger Woods to withdraw despite making the cut, the 87th Masters was sure a tournament filled with twists and turns that the fans thoroughly enjoyed.
