The Saudi-backed LIV Golf has announced all 12 teams and rosters ahead of the second season’s start this Friday. The top golf names, such as Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio Garcia, will lead their four-man teams into the team invitationals for the league.

LIV Golf has registered 48 players into the league and will play 14 tournaments this season. This is an increase from the number of tournaments played last season, with its maiden season having only eight invitationals hosted by the league.

One of the new entrants to the league, Thomas Pieters, has criticized the PGA Tour for not inviting him to the Genesis Invitationals 2023. The current World No. 35 has joined LIV golf as part of Bubba Watson’s team – RangeGoats GC. The former DP World Tour player expressed frustration on the PGA Tour on Twitter and wrote, “Sad to miss my favorite tournament of the year. Because well as #34 in world, I just couldn’t get in @PGATOUR.”

On the other hand, Phil Mickelson recently included Michigan State alumni James Piot to join him in HY Flyers GC. He will be joining alongside Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale in Mickelson’s team. Describing his new team, Mickelson says this is the perfect team for him and each member of the team.

The LIV Golf circuit this season has much better prospects than its maiden one. With no television deal and little to no crowd visiting the Invitational matches, the league was not getting the reach that it had expected. This season, LIV has signed an exclusive broadcast deal with CW Network, mostly known for their teen-targeted daily soaps.

LIV expects that this year, they are able to meet their targets to reach out to the golf community and emerge as a true rival circuit that competes PGA and gives top class golfing action to watch for the fans.
