“Wants some of that Saudi blood money”- Donald Trump to HIGHLIGHT LIV Golf’s last event for 2022
Donald Trump will compete in the last LIV Golf Invitational for 2022
Donald Trump wishes to promote LIV Golf as the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV golf may have just done enough this year to come close to the success of PGA, at least in terms of viewership and the kind of money it now commands, even though it doesn’t still have a broadcast deal in place.
According to recent reports, the league will be officially rebranded as the LIV Golf League next year with the last invitational event of 2022 scheduled to be held from Oct. 28-30 at Trump National Doral in Miami where former president Donald Trump will himself be competing, albeit without spectators.
Next year, 14 events are already planned to be held as part of the LIV Golf League with the same 54-hole and no cut format.
Recently, Dustin Johnson capped the 2022 LIV season by winning the Jeddah event, taking home a $18 million bonus followed by Branden Grace ($8 million) and Peter Uihlein ($4 million).
Tiger Woods to be a part of LIV golf in 2023? The much-talked about $800 million offer decoded
Tiger Woods in his illustrious career has won everything and if reports are to be believed arguably the greatest golfer of all time has a net worth of at least $1 billion as his lifetime earnings.
Now the news which is doing rounds in the golfing circuit is that – the Saudi-backed league LIV Golf tried to lure the golfer into joining them for a mindboggling fees between $700 million to $800 million.
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman had earlier revealed that the former World No.1 was offered somewhat around a billion dollars to leave the PGA Tour and join the rebel league.
“That number was out there before I became CEO, and that number’s been out there, yes,” Norman said. “Tiger’s a needle-mover, right? Of course, you’ve got to look at the best of the best,” Norman had said.
If the deal works out, it will be a great feather in the cap for LIV and potentially the arrow that will pierce the PGA Tour’s heart leading to its ultimate death. Considering some of the big names that are playing for LIV already and the kind of viewership it is getting on its YouTube live streams, the former won’t be a foregone conclusion.
