After his stunning victory at the Wyndham Championship last week, Lucas Glover did something incredible on Sunday. He started the FedEx St Jude Championship where he left the previous one and emerged victorious after a playoff round. This marked back-to-back wins for the 43-year-old who defeated Patrick Cantlay in an intense play-off round.

Just a few weeks ago he was ranked 130th in the FedEx Cup standings. However, the 2009 US Open winner has been determined to bounce back. A one-under 69 on Sunday enabled him to finish the event with 15-under which tied the scores with Cantlay. This meant that for a third year running, the first leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs needed extra rounds to determine the winner.

The sudden death saw Glover making a par, putting the chasing pressure on Cantlay. The 2021 FedEx Cup champion was unable to match Glover and missed his putt to save par. Glover also become the oldest player after legendary Tiger Woods to win an event in the FedEx Cup playoffs. A Twitter user noted, “Great f***ing back-to-back wins! See you in Rome Lucas”.

He later added how he never thought a few months ago that he would win back-to-back events. This victory and performance of him have led to many urging US Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson to take Glover into consideration.
