World No.8 Max Homa took a dig at a TikTok user who blamed his wife Lacey Croom and son Cam Homa for his Major Championship drought. The user claimed that Homa’s wife and son are holding him back which resulted in the 6x PGA Tour winner’s drawback performance in 2023.

Homa is not only a great golfer but also a fan favorite both on and off the field. His humorous texts and replies on social media platforms have made him one of the favorite personalities. Following the TikTok user’s remark, the golfer took to X, and labeled the user as a “clown”.

He went on to say that his performance and scores were even lower before his wife and son came into his life. Although 2023 may not have been the best year for Homa, he finished in the top 10 in the recent Arnold Palmer Invitational. He also finished in the top 25 in four events, while missing one cut at the Phoenix Open. He called out the TikTok user saying,

I guess he hasn’t seen my record before having a kid. It’s even worse!

He further jokingly added that it was “all my wife’s fault” as “she’s been here for all of them.” As per Orlando Ramirez from Golf Digest, Tripp McGuffin wrote

That kid and wife are keeping from majors. I’d tell them everyday you’re giving up green jackets for them.

As per reports, Max Homa’s wife Lacey called out the user saying they forgot to include their fluff buddy Scotty during their online rant. Their reply to the user has brought together their fans who supported Homa and Lacey following the incident.

Can “perfectionist” Max Homa change his Majors fate in 2024?

Although it’s hard to give a definitive answer to this question, Max Homa, undoubtedly is ready to pocket his first Majors win. He seems to be in good form so far in 2024 and recently finished in the top 10 at Bay Hill.

Homa also admitted that he thinks and tries too hard when it comes to Major Championship talk, which may have been detrimental to his career. He said he “believe that my golf game is plenty good” to try and compete in the majors and he’ll do his best this year.

He said that his “perfectionist” attitude makes him want to work really hard but at times it also proves to be “like a double-edged sword.” He says he’ll have to admit that people make mistakes and “it’s okay to mess up” at times. While fans have been wanting to see Homa run for the Majors trophy, their wish may just have been lit by the TikTok user’s comment on his wife and son.

It’ll be interesting to see how things turn out in the Players Championship where he’ll be facing Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland, Will Zalatoris, and many other top golfers. The event will take place on 14 March at Players Stadium Course, with a prize pocket of $25 million.
