Hot head Max Homa regrets club throwing moment after poor performance at 2023 Phoenix Open
Max Hama was caught in the heat of the moment, after throwing a club at the Phoenix Open, for which he apologised later.

The 2023 WM Phoenix Open has certainly been an entertaining one for the world. With 23 of the top 24 golfers on course, it was certainly an exciting weekend. However, the same could not be said for Max Homa, who walked away with T39. Scottie Scheffler on the other hand, took first place in the Open and on the World Rankings board.
Homa on the other hand struggled quite a bit. Often known for his fun loving personality off course, he is equally known to be quite the hot-head on course. And of course, the pressure seems to have gotten the better of him a the Phoenix Open. An ugly side of the golfer was seen at the Phoenix Open, which was not the sight to see.
During the final round on the 6th hole, Homa seemed to have lost it. A poor swing meant that his ball only travelled 100 yards, while leaving almost 80 yards untouched. This, added to the fact that he had a double bogey at the start of the day, meant that he was at his limits.

His anger got the best of him, and Homa just chucked his club almost 15 yards from where he was standing. It seemed although that this did not help his game get any better. Homa continued with a poor round, hitting bogey after bogey. However, 1 birdie at the 17th hole saw his luck turn around just a bit.
It landed him with a 72 at the end of the round, but a T39 overall to end his poor performance- especially after his previous win at the Farmers Insurance Open. Later however, Max Homa did take accountability for his actions. He retweeted the video, and said “Can’t look less cool if I tried.”
It’s often not easy to keep your cool in high pressure situations. However, the way Homa handled it is quite natural. Moving on however, stands an even bigger challenge- the Genesis Invitational. 23 of the top 25 players will make an appearance at the tournament, and big points are up for grabs.
Even better is that golfing legend Tiger Woods will be making an appearance at the Genesis Invitational. This will be his first tournament after an 8 month break-since he missed the cut at St. Andrews. Players and fans alike are excited to see the legend back on course once again.
