“It isn’t worth it at all”: Micheal Jordan advises Harold Varner III to turn down ‘nuts’ LIV Golf Series offer
Harold Varner III and Michael Jordan
The recent Saudi backed LIV Golf series has caused quite the controversy, managing to cause tension in the golf world. The defectors from the PGA Tour have been severely penalised by the same, suspending them indefinitely. Amongst these include Phil Mickelson, Ian Poulter, Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed to name a few.
There were however many that stayed on the PGA, rejecting the massive money offers that came their way from the LIV Series. Amongst these are Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Harold Varner III. However, Varner had some advise from one of the greats, Michael Jordan. Harold Varner III pulled off a win at the Saudi International at the beginning of 2022, and people thought that he would leap at the thought of a Saudi backed LIV Series.

Harold Varner III takes valuable advise from Michael Jordan about LIV Golf Series
Jordan and Varner share a business relationship, but sometimes it extends beyond to friendship too. The offer that Varner received from the LIV Series was ‘nuts’ but regardless, he decided not to take it. One of these advisors who helped in making these decisions was Jordan himself.
“I’m obviously not going,” Varner said matter-of-factly about leaving the PGA Tour for LIV Golf, he said according to si.com. “I’ve spoken with (PGA Tour commissioner) Jay (Monahan), I’ve spoken with a lot of people I look up to and it just wasn’t worth it to me for what it was worth. That’s pretty simple.”
