The reigning Australian PGA champion Min Woo Lee, gathered a lot of support from his fans at the Phoenix Open, with fans supporting him by wearing red chef hats with the slogan "Let him cook" written on them.

Min Woo Lee, the popular golfer from Australia has gathered a lot of support from his fans at the Phoenix Open 2024. Lee’s fans have been supporting him by wearing red chef hats with the slogan “Let him cook” written on them, in a nod to his signature celebration of wearing a chef hat after winning the Australian PGA Championship.

Last time he said that he had no idea about where a Chef’s hat came from. At present, the reigning Australian PGA champion is partnered with Lululemon, a sportswear company. At the Phoenix Open, Lee has been in good touch, making the cut and currently now sitting in a tie for 47th place. His fans have been out in numbered cheering for him loudly and sporting their red chef hats.

On the other side, the Canadian golfer Nick Taylor tied the course record with a score of 11-under-par 60 in the first round. Taylor’s impressive round has put him in contention for the lead.

Speaking post completing the round Nick said he felt like he was seeing the lines great. His speed putt has been going well. It’s been a wet and wild tournament so far, with heavy rain causing delays and impacting play on Thursday.

Min Woo Lee: An emerging player in the making

Starting his career as an amateur, he won the eminent US Junior Championship in 2016. Later he turned professional in 2019, and rapidly made his mark on the European Tour, claiming his first victory at the ISPS Handa Vic Open in 2020.

Lee’s career graph took a huge leap in 2021 with a nail-biting playoff victory at the Scottish Open. This victory not only earned him The European Tour title for the second time but also secured his entry into the Open Championship, his first major appearance.

His significant performance throughout the 2022-23 season also earned him a special temporary membership on the PGA Tour. At the beginning of 2024 Min Woo Lee was seen supporting Jon Rahm’s view on The American Express adding formidable challenges to PGA Tour.

The Phoenix Open is currently on its 3rd day and several big-name players are missing this event. and will end on 11th Feb. A.Novak and N.Taylor both tied at 1st position. It will be interesting to see how the weather will turn out.
