In the world of professional golf, one personality that had made a huge name for herself is Paige Spiranac. The former golfer-turned-influencer is one of the most active people on social media. Her huge fan following has made her a celebrity. She is often known for her hot takes and guessing the winners of current competitions. She recently picked Rory McIlroy to win the Scottish Open which came true. This has led to her boasting about her correct pick.
On Sunday, McIlroy emerged as the winner of the Genesis Scottish Open. The North Irishman has had tough few months as he kept on coming up short. Spiranac who kept on picking him to win the events, later stopped choosing him. Before the PGA Championship, she said “I am done picking up Rory because it always burns me in the end,” she wrote on her Twitter account.
It seems Spiranac is back picking up the new number two in the world. Following his triumph at the Scottish Open, McIlroy moved ahead of Jon Rahm in the official standings to take up second place. While the top player prepares himself for the prestigious Open championship, Spiranac finds herself in full confidence in picking the right winner this time as well.
“Not gonna lie I’ve been on quite a heater with my picks. Cashed in Rory outright and top 10s with Fleetwood and Hatton. Feeling good going into the Open,” the internet sensation said on her Twitter account. Apart from picking McIlroy as the winner, she also predicted to pick Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrell Hatton to finish in the top ten rankings. The English duo finished tied for the top six in the tournament.

In recent times Paige Spiranac has become a household name in golf. Her celebrity status and work as an analyst has been well enjoyed by the fans. However, they were shocked to find out that she did not include Rory McIlroy as her odds-on favorite for the PGA Championship. She explained how the 34-year-old had broken her heart too many times.
It seems as though the trust in McIlroy has returned in her heart and has forgiven him. Before the tournament, she forgive the golfer and voiced her support for him. “I said I would never pick him again for a major after he has broken my heart one too many times,” she tweeted. The social media later added then why not pick him for the Scottish Open. McIlroy paid back her faith as he overcame several obstacles to conquer his third title in the United Kingdom.
Her correct prediction has now made things interesting. Whoever she picks as her likely winner will be looked upon with huge expectations. The 151st Open Championship will kick on 20th July. McIlroy along with LIV London winner Cameron Smith are the current favorites to go for the win as both ride high on confidence into the marquee event.
