The ongoing Saudi backed LIV Golf series has caused quite the tension in the golf world, as the controversial series have raised a lot of concern. There have been several defectors who switched from the PGA Tour to the LIV Series, and they have been punished by the PGA Tour through an indefinite suspension. Amongst these golfers include Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Kevin Na and Ian Poulter.
Paige Spiranac recently shared her opinions about the controversial series, and in particular talked about Johnson and Na, who said that the LIV Series was a great opportunity for the sport. While Spiranac does not have a problem with the players, but instead has a problem with the PR statements that they present. “My beef with the PR statements that these players put out, is that they keep talking about the growth of the game, growing the game of golf, the progression of the game.”

“Kevin Na came out and also said something very similar, where he was like, this is just where I see my career going. It’s great for my family, Dustin Johnson put out a statement kind of saying the same thing. This is for my family, it is a great opportunity and great for the progression of the game,” said Spiranac to essentiallysports.com.
She went on to add, “But these guys give two sh**s about the progression of golf. You think Dustin Johnson really cares about growing the game of golf, like come on that and that’s my issue with it is that it’s these PR statements that make it seem like it’s this like they’re doing the right thing.”
