“Pitiful golf on a pitiful setup”: Patton Kizzire mocks 2022 PGA Championship despite playing on Tour

With the 2022 PGA Championships almost coming to an end, the Southern Hill golf course has proved to be a fantastic one for golfers, after making its comeback this year.
There have been some surprises on course, including the cut of Scottie Scheffler and the retirement of Tiger Woods. Yet, one of the more surprising things to happen was the comments of golfer Patton Kizzire, who said some pretty bizarre things about the course. There has previously been much praise about the course from all players. Max Homa tweeted on Monday, “I’ve only seen 9 holes and Southern Hills is already up there with the best courses I’ve played in my life.”
However, Kizzire seems to feel different about it, disliking the course and the set up of it.

Kizzire opened in 69, but shot 75-78 to sit at 12 over par, tied for last place among those who made the cut. He was quite critical of the course and the choice of the officials to not mow the lawn between round 1 and round 2 due to anticipation of strong wind. He said on an Instagram story that it was “Pitiful golf on a pitiful setup on an overrated golf course.”
“I mean, we’re playing a major championship, not a monthly medal,” Hatton said to golfchannel.com. “You know, they’re [bouncing] all over the place. It’s so hard to hole putts. So you can hit a great putt and they just don’t look like going in, which is hard to accept when we’re playing in a major championship.”
