The Bermuda Championship will remain devoid of the PGA Tour pro player Grayson Murray, owing to the bloody head-on crash with a car while he scooted his way down the road. The player was knocked unconscious around 4 PM on his way back to the hotel where he was staying.
Grayson Murray was expected to play at the 2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship and had to withdraw due to the mishap. An image of Grayson, wounded, emerged on the internet with loads of fans pouring wishes and sympathies for him. They wished him to get well really soon and make a comeback.
The mishap was a really unfortunate one with the details being discussed here. While the whole scene appears scary, the caddie was also hurt in the scene. The picture of the meandering road also appeared, which seemed to be quite the task for a rider, scouting their way for the first time on the terrain.
Grayson Murray has no one to blame but himself for the mishap
“Riding on the opposite side of the road is already confusing, and the roads in Bermuda are narrow and sketchy.” Murray and the caddie had to ride the scooter since renting cars for tourists is prohibited in the area. The rented scooters didn’t prove to be very helpful for Murray and the Caddie who went out for a stroll.
“Honestly, I’m pretty fortunate because the helmet saved me,” Grayson Murray said. He suffered 25 stitches on the face to close the wound with some others on the knees and the left hand. On being asked about the course of action that might follow, he added, “If it wasn’t for my knee and stitches in my left hand, I would try to play.”
Grayson Murray posted a wounded picture on Instagram, suggesting he was better and had recovered enough to head back to his abode. Doug Schwimmer, Murray’s caddie followed him, but wasn’t able to save him as the whole incident was really swift. He thanked everyone for the wishes, writing, “Thank you to the PGA Tour staff for all the help the last couple days and all the well wishes I got from players/caddies and y’all. Much love.”
