Phil Mickelson has indeed taken another step into quicksand; he has yet again surprised the Golf Nation after turning entirely against the words he said in late 2021. On Wednesday, Phil was in Saudi Arabia at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club, where he stood and lied outright. Well! it’s sadly not a surprise at all.

Phil Mickelson denied any previous comments made on Saudi Arabia simultaneously on February 17th, Alan Shipnuck revealed the details of his interview with Phil. The Hall of Famer went into hiding for months as a result of defaming comment which he now claims never even happened.

According to the interview given to Shipnuck, “They’re scary motherfuckers to get involved with,” Phil Mickelson said. “We know they killed [Washington Post reporter and U.S. resident Jamal] Khashoggi and have a horrible record on human rights. They execute people over there for being gay. Knowing all of this, why would I even consider it?”

Phil Mickelson was asked at the site of the LIV Golf Invitational Jeddah, the following question: “You made some comments about this country last year which you’ve apologized for. I wondered how you feel about now you’re here. Have you changed your opinion?”

“So, I will reiterate, I never did an interview with Alan Shipnuck,” Phil Mickelson said. “And I find that my experience with everybody associated with LIV Golf has been nothing but incredibly positive and I have the utmost respect for everybody that I’ve been involved with.”

Phil did not stop there in the interview with Shipnuck, he added, “Because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reshape how the PGA Tour operates. They’ve been able to get by with manipulative, coercive, strong-arm tactics because we, the players, had no recourse.”

Oh, the response was laughable, on June 6, Phil Mickelson posted a statement on his Twitter feed that said, “I want to again apologize to the many people I offended and hurt with my comments a few months ago.”
