Andy Ogletree has now become a full-time member of the LIV Golf and joined Phil Mickelson's team HyFlyers GC.

Following their massive $600 million acquirement of Jon Rahm, the league has now poached another big star in Andy Ogletree. The former US Amateur champion is now joining LIV Golf while taking his place in Phil Mickelson‘s team HyFlyers GC.

The 45-time PGA Tour winner was pleased to see Ogletree chose his team and welcomed his with open arms. The 25-year-old joins him and his team following his victory in the Asian Tour’s International Series Order of Merit.

This will, however, not be the American’s first taste of LIV Golf. He previously made his presence felt during the Invitational Series in 2022. His appearance there allowed him to compete in the International Series the following year. He was also registered as a reserve player on the LIV Golf and stepped in during the event at Tulsa in 2023 in place of Lee Westwood.

His strong performance in this event helped him finish 43rd in the final season standings this year. As a result of this, he avoided the drop zone and was placed in the open zone which allowed to him negotiate with any team. Mickelson labeled him as an impressive young player and praised him.

Andy is one of the most impressive young players in the game who has earned his spot on LIV. The work he has continued to put in and the resiliency he showed this past year in creating his own success was awesome to see. He makes the HyFlyers a contender next year.

HyFlyers GC excited to have Andy Ogletree on their team

The 2023 season turned out to be a tough one for the HyFlyers GC. Not only did they fail to register a top-three finish in any of the thirteen events, but they also lost a member in James Piot through relegation. The Phil Mickelson-led side finished the year with a disappointing ninth-place finish with just 40 points.

However, they are now looking forward to the future and hoping to turn things around with Andy Ogletree in their team. His addition gives them a new sharp edge over their rivals.

This move sorts out the final spot for the HyFlyers who are now all set for the next season. Their fans are now hoping this signing of Ogletree gives them the edge over their other rivals as they aim for a better performance in the new season.

Three teams in Cleeks GC, IronHeads GC, and Rippers GC still have spots left on their team to be filled. This could be filled with following the LIV Golf Draft. Whether Jon Rahm will have a completely new team also remains to be seen.
