The 2023 WM Phoenix Open saw one of the hardest fields of the year. 23 of the top 24 golfers in the world were on course. This included the World no. 1, 2 and 3- Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm. The audience was in for a wild ride, as the Phoenix Open is widely known for that.

And as the battle of the best began, it was clear that Scheffler took the lead right from the beginning. The world no 2 eventually did manage to win the Phoenix Open in style. Scheffler also managed to upgrade himself to the top of the board, as he sits at World No. 1 now.

Playing for the PGA Tour also seems to be paying off this year. The 26-year-old has now taken his fifth win at the PGA, while also defending his back-to-back title at the Phoenix Open. Scheffler also walked away with a whopping $3.6 million purse, a very high number indeed. He also beat Phil Mickelson to become the highest paid winner of the Phoenix Open
