The prominent Netflix golf drama “Full Swing” is currently living upto it’s name. The second season of the series recently went live, giving the fans an insights to the golfing world. In this, the reaction of Rory McIlroy to finding out about the merger has become the talking point.

McIlroy, the four-time major champion, had been a huge critic of LIV Golf. Following the Saudi-backed tour’s formation in 2022, he would slam them and the golfers who left the PGA Tour to join them.

When the merger was announced in June 2023, the 34-year-old golfer once again attacked LIV and boldly claimed he would rather “retire” than play for them. He though was not done with his ranting. McIlroy would later take shots at the PGA Tour and claimed he felt like a “sacrificial lamb” which was used by the tour.

In a tweet shared by Rory Tracker (an account which shares updates of Rory McIlroy), the golfer could be seen talking on camera why he wasted twelve months of life to fight for something (defending the PGA Tour) and later dropped an f-bomb.

You get dragged into these things from time to time and I've been dragged in a big way. But I am almost at the point of like 'f*** it, do what you want to do.

Rory McIlroy’s classy gesture towards Brooks Koepka revealed in Netflix Series

As Rory McIlroy continued to be the main guy on the PGA Tour, Brooks Koepka had emerged as the leading golfer on LIV Golf. The two golfers shocked the world when they played a practice round at the Augusta National before the Masters. Now a classy gesture of McIlroy towards Koepka has been revealed.

Prior to the PGA Championship, both McIlroy and Koepka were tied on four major championships wins. As McIlroy failed at the Masters, Koepka was in the running for the green jacket. However, the American star was unable to keep his composure towards the end and finished tied for second behind then PGA Tour member Jon Rahm.

Koepka though would bounce back from this disappointment and took home the PGA Championship one month later to claim his fifth major and move one ahead of McIlroy. Though he finished seven strokes behind him, McIlroy would rush to the parking lot to congratulate him before going their separate ways.

Brooks! Brooks! Well done. I'm really happy for you. Enjoy it

So far Koepka is the only golfer to win a major championship while representing LIV Golf. However, with the stunning move of Rahm to them and the current form of Joaquin Niemann, the chances of another LIV golf star joining Koepka in this list has increased this year.
