Tiger Woods’ absence from PGA Zozo Championship is nothing less than an ‘out of sorts’ affair
Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods and his magnanimity are definitely a treat for eyes of all golf fans, no matter the tour or course. The PGA Tour returned to Japan for its Zozo Championship at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, which is historically connected to Woods. Woods, before his car crash and injury scored a big win to claim his 82nd title on the same course that no longer sees him today.
The golfer famously secured a three-shot win at Narashino Country Club, claiming the victory to equal the highest PGA Tour win record held by Sam Snead in 2019. The accident followed and Woods became a no-show for the contest, since then.
The golfing world is aware that Tiger is on a tight schedule and has limited his choice of games since the mishap. However, he has been active on the world stage otherwise, also securing his 15th Major title at the beginning of 2022. He hasn’t featured in the PGA Tour since the one held in 2020 in California, finishing in style with a single-shot win.

Tiger Woods’ last Zozo victory was with a three-shot game
Hideki Matsuyama was defeated with a final-hole birdie securing Tiger Woods the record equaling win. The 2019 tournament was sort of a comeback for him, after his knee surgery and he played to expectation. The first three holes were bogeyed, followed by a six-under 64 and starting with an upper edge.
The second round got him the expected lead as well, where he pretty much easily birdied his final two holes. The advantage was definitely visible right on the stage but he didn’t stop. The third lead was a four-under 66 as his final performance was awaited.
The game was one-sided except for the brief lead Hideki Matsuyama gained when Woods bogeyed the 12th. The 14th was another shot by Tiger where he regained his claim on the top of the leaderboard. 82nd PGA Tour title at the Zozo thus went to Tiger Woods, and it has been a while since he graced the tournament.
