Tiger Woods, LeBron James

Tiger Woods is a man of many legends. Considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time, Woods has definitely made his mark on the course. Seen as an idol by many, Woods is a mentor, an icon, and a friend to every single one of the champions that walk on the green.

However, Tiger too, looks up to someone. This time he has found his confidant in LeBron James. Tiger Woods reflected on James’ long standing record. He could only marvel and applaud the long standing career that James has had. This especially relates directly to Woods, who is also trying to extend his career as long as he can.

“That record, we thought it would never be surpassed,” Woods said. “What LeBron is doing, also the amount of minutes he’s playing, no one’s ever done that before at that age. To be able to play all five positions, that’s never been done before at this level for this long,” praised Woods.

Woods is no less of a legend himself. He holds the joint record with Sam Snead for 82 PGA Tour wins over the span of his career. Woods has also been through is fair share on injuries, especially the car accident in early 2021. This left him unable to play for the longest time, after which he returned to course, but with a lot of troubles.

After being on and off on the course, Woods missed the cut at St. Andrews in 2022. Even though he was doing very selective with the kind of tournaments he was playing, he decided to make a complete off for 8 months. Now he’s back and his attention has been shifted to the Genesis Invitational, which is just a few days away.

Woods is ready to be back in action, after a long time. When asked about what he feels about being back on course, Woods said, “I’ve got to pick and choose what I’m going to be playing in. It will be very limited. So I’ll put all my energy into those events.”

I’m excited to go out there and compete and play with these guys. I would not have put myself out here if I didn’t think I could beat these guys and win the event.” Tiger Woods’ mentality is incomparable, and even though he hasn’t competed for a long time, he is still at an extremely high level of play.
