Augusta, Georgia – The world’s greatest golfers are descending upon Augusta National Golf Club this week for the first major tournament of the year – the Masters. But one golfer in particular, who triumphantly returned to the competition last year, is the center of attention and he is none other than Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods, 47, defied all expectations when he made his comeback to competitive golf at the 2022 Masters, just 14 months after a horrific car accident that left his right leg and foot in dire shape. Not only did Woods play, but he made the cut, proving that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.
Now, Tiger Woods has arrived at Augusta National once again, hoping to build on his success from last year. After pulling out of the 2022 PGA Championship and skipping the U.S. Open owing to illness and exhaustion, he plans to compete in all four major tournaments this season.
Tiger Woods’ plan for the 2023 Masters
During an interview with CBS in February, Tiger Woods revealed that his goal going forward is to play in all the majors each year. However, due to the limitations of his body, he won’t be able to play much more than that.
He said, “My body and my leg and my back just won’t allow me to play much more than that anymore. … That’s gonna be my schedule going forward because of all the limitations I have.”
Tiger Woods has won the Masters five times, with his most recent victory coming in 2019. He finished 47th last year and will be looking to improve on that performance. However, he knows that the competition will be fierce, with some of the world’s best golfers vying for the green jacket.
Tiger Woods’ return to the Masters this year is highly anticipated, as fans and fellow golfers alike look forward to seeing how he performs after last year’s impressive comeback. With his sights set on playing in all the majors this season, Woods will be looking to make a statement at Augusta National and show that he is still a player that should be taken seriously on the golf course.
As the competition unfolds, fans eagerly await to see if Woods will add another green jacket to his impressive collection or if a new champion will emerge. Regardless of the outcome, the Masters’ Tournament remains one of the most prestigious events in golf, and the arrival of Tiger Woods only adds to the excitement and anticipation surrounding it.
