As the 87th edition of The Masters gets underway at Augusta National, all eyes are on Rory McIlroy, who is looking to complete a career Grand Slam by winning the iconic green jacket. The four-time major champion has come close on several occasions but has yet to claim a victory in his 14 previous attempts at Augusta.

The 31-year-old has already tasted success this season, winning the Dubai Desert Classic and finishing third at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. With his form on the rise, McIlroy will be looking to make a strong statement at Augusta this year.

In the lead-up to the tournament, Woods has backed McIlroy to finally get over the line and complete the career Grand Slam. In a pre-tournament press conference, the 15-time major champion spoke highly of McIlroy’s ability and his understanding of Augusta National. Woods believes that it’s only a matter of time before McIlroy claims the green jacket and joins an elite group of players who have won all four major titles.
