The 2022 PGA Championship has got of to a flying start, as two days of the championship are already over. The biggest names in golf, including Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and others are all geared up to clinch the prestigious title.
Will Zalatoris is currently in the lead after two rounds, while Mito Pereira currently sits second with -8 after day two. Rory McIlroy, a favourite to win the championship is currently in fifth place, after a rough outing in Round 2. Unfortunately for Scottie Scheffler, his run was cut short after a poor performance in round one. Yet one golfer fights on, as Tiger Woods still remains in the hunt for the title, despite enduring a tough time.
After suffering from a severe car crash in early 2021, Woods had almost been out for a year and a half due to severe injuries. Yet he has managed to make a successful comeback, surviving two very tough cuts in the Championship.

Woods’ limp has been much more prominent on the second day, making it obvious that his leg was facing the after effects of the crash. His 1-under-par 69 followed an opening-round 74 to put him at 143, 3 over par, and in a tie for 53rd place. Yet Woods is still hard on himself, clearly getting irritated after not performing well.
He continues to play through the pain, and as said in the tweet, “There’s a mission. The mission is to go ahead and win this thing somehow.” Talking about his previous experience, Woods said, “I’ve won tournaments – not major championships, but I’ve won tournaments on the cut number. There’s a reason why you fight hard and you’re able to give yourself a chance on the weekend. You just never know when you might get hot,” to si.com. Woods now as his eyes set on winning as he comes up with a solid game plan.
