Golf legend Tiger Woods has been embroiled in yet another controversy. This time, his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman has accused him of sexual harassment and locking her out of their shared home. The allegations came to light in newly filed court papers in Florida.

According to the court filing, Woods forced Herman to sign a non-disclosure agreement while she managed his restaurant, which she claims constituted sexual harassment. These allegations have further intensified the scrutiny of Woods’ already controversial past.

As per a report by Sports Illustrated, the occurrence happened back in August 2017, during the initial days of Woods and Herman’s relationship. At that time, she was handling his restaurant and Woods supposedly coerced her into signing a non-disclosure agreement by threatening to terminate her employment. Herman viewed this as a case of sexual harassment since she perceived it as an ultimatum and had no alternative but to acquiesce to retain her job.

The situation further escalated when Woods allegedly tricked Herman into leaving his home last year, telling her to pack her bags for a trip to the Bahamas. However, when she arrived at the airport, Woods’ lawyers told her that she was locked out of the house and could not see Woods again without signing another NDA.

Attorneys for Herman are now asking a Florida judge to stop discovery and all proceedings in her lawsuit against Woods after he tried to move the case out of court, claiming that he “hasn’t even come close” to proving that Herman agreed to arbitration.

The allegations made by Erica Herman against Tiger Woods could have significant implications, not only for the golfer but also for the restaurant industry as a whole.

Woods’ alleged use of a non-disclosure agreement to control an employee’s behavior, particularly in the context of a sexual harassment claim, is concerning. It raises questions about the power dynamics in the workplace and the ethics of using NDAs in this manner.

Furthermore, if Herman’s allegations are confirmed, it might drastically alter how businesses use NDAs. Employers would have to review their policies and ensure no coercion is used to get workers to sign them. The restaurant business has long been criticized for rampant harassment and employee exploitation.

This case might mark a turning point for the sector and force a wider examination of these problems.“Tiger Woods, the internationally renowned athlete and one of the most powerful figures in global sports, decided to pursue a sexual relationship with his employee, then – according to him – forced her to sign an NDA about it or else be fired from her job,” Hobas noted.

Tiger Woods is the subject of serious and potentially far-reaching sexual harassment claims presented by Erica Herman. They pose significant issues regarding workplace power distribution and the moral application of non-disclosure agreements.

According to the New York Post, If Herman’s allegations are verified, it might significantly impact how NDAs are utilized and how power is distributed between employers and employees.

The outcome of this case will surely be widely observed by the general public and the business since it has the potential to start a necessary discussion about the culture of exploitation and harassment in the restaurant sector.
