“My dad would be very disappointed”: Tiger Woods’ half brother speaks out about broken marriage with ex-wife Elin Nordegren

Tiger Woods is considered to be one of the greatest golfers of all time. Revolutionising the game of golfs, Woods has become the face of the PGA Tour and the new era of golf. The 15-time major winner and 82 time PGA Tour winner however has had his own set of scandals and issues- which were further scrutinised as he was under constant limelight.
While the golfer was on top of his career till 2010, his strained marriage with Elin Nordegren came to an end in 2009. In November 2003 Nodregen and Woods attended the President’s Cup tournament in South Africa together. Just after they announced their engagement as Woods proposed to her at the Shamwari Game Reserve. However, things turned sour in 2009, when it was claimed that she had an affair with New York nightclub boss Rachel Uchitel.
It was said that the golf star slept with over 120 women during the time that he was married. Woods subsequently apologised for his infidelity, as even attended sex rehab for his habits. “I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt my infidelity has caused – most of all to my wife and children,” admitted Tiger Woods later.

The break up of Tiger Woods and Elin caused a lot of controversy, within and without the family. Woods’ half brother, Earl Woods Jr., talked about the conflict caused in the family when the situation happened. He said that the Tiger that he idolised would no longer be by his side. “I think my dad would be very disappointed with him,” Earl said in an interview.
Earl said that the family was very close to Elin, that the breakup came as a big blow to them. “She was family. My dad and her really connected,” he said. Woods however, did bounce back from the whole controversy, and came back even stronger in his professional career.
