Born in 1940 in a small town in Scotland, Robson had been the announcer for the Open since 1975. In his 41 years at the helm, he would go on to introduce more than 18,995 golfers at the first tee. He would call it a day on his career following the 2015 Open Championship at St. Andrews. During his time, he saw some of the greatest triumphs and watched every stroke closely.

Robson initially started as a golfer but was unable to make it through the PGA Tour. He would then decide to switch careers and became an announcer for the Open and the DP World Tour. From the wins of Jack Nicklaus to Tom Watson and the riveting rivalry of Woods and Phil Mickelson, he saw it all.
