Tiger Woods is well known for topping the golf leaderboards for World’s No.1 position in the past. However, he is also famous for his philanthropic considerations off the golf course. He has had a soft spot for children and pledged $25 million of his proceeds for a Learning facility in the past back in 2006.
At an event recently, Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton (former President), and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife, Maria Shriver congratulated the philanthropic golfer for his achievement. This achievement is none other than the initiation of a Tiger Woods Foundation that he started a while ago.
This foundation was followed by his Learning Facility for which Tiger pledged close to $5 million. The foundation receives net proceeds from events organized with the PGA Tour event – the Deutsche Bank Championship (not held in Boston).
Tiger Woods has presented himself as an inspiration for the young generation. He mentioned that his facility was “merely a vehicle” for the children and that he would love to be remembered for his efforts as someone who also gave back to society than just being a golfer.
The generous endeavor of Tiger Woods
Woods was ecstatic as he announced the opening of his new learning facility, calling it a momentous occasion in his life. His thrill and delight spoke volumes about the closeness of this project to his heart. He believes that the facility is a much greater feat than he ever achieved in his golf career.
The facility is said to be around 35,000 feet square and is built right next to the Dad Miller golf course. The facility has 25 founding partners. Many international brands like Nike, Target, and Augusta National have joined hands with the golfer for his dream to come true. The event was a huge success, especially after the appearance of Bill Clinton himself.
Woods said, “This is by far the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. This is bigger than golf. This is bigger than anything I’ve done on the golf course. Because we will be able to shape lives.” Bill Clinton showered the golfer with praises saying that he was impressed with Woods having a great heart and doing something for society at an age of 30.
We totally agree that the leaderboards of golf and the fan sentiments are both rightly ruled by Tiger’s fierce play on the course and magnanimous efforts off of it.
