Tiger Woods is finally back! After a lot of speculation over how much Woods can play, the golfing legend is looking to play once again. He will be returning without a cart to competition after 8 long months. He will be playing at the Riviera at Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles.

Woods is hopeful to play Riviera, where the purse is set at $20 million. The tournament is known to have one for the strongest fields, for which he is a host. The uncertainty with his play came from the fact that he suffered from plantar fasciitis in December.

He did play the PNC Championship with his son, and an 12-hole exhibition course; in which he was allowed to ride in a kart. Karts are usually not allowed by the PGA Tour, unless under the Disabilities Act. “I’m ready to play an ACTUAL PGA Tour event next week,” Woods tweeted recently.

This will be Woods‘ first regular tournament on the PGA Tour. “I just can’t get from Point A to Point B,” said Woods, saying that he could hit any shot that was needed. If his play next week goes well, it will be a promising sign for him to play the Masters in April.

Woods suffered from a massive car accident in early 2021. He suffered from multiple leg fractures and injuries, which severely pained him. This also left him struggling to play and traverse around the course. He recovered for a good 14 months, and it was wonderful that he made a recovery and returned to the Masters.

He came back with a limp though and he could soon feel the agony of getting into such a bad accident. He made the cut at the PGA Championships, only to sadly retire in the later round with a severe limp. He did not go to the US Open, in the hopes of playing at St. Andrews. However, it was not meant to be, as he missed the cut at the British Open.

Woods now makes his return after a well deserved break. Regardless of whether he makes the cut or not, he will still be one of the favourite golfers to watch for fans and other golfers alike. Amongst a field of strong contenders, Woods’ shots will shine the brightest
