Kim was spotted at the event wearing white pants at the event. The unusual part was that the pants were just short near his ankles as he had rolled them up to avoid getting dirty.. Speaking of this fashion move, the 21-year-old rising golfer was quick to admit that people were having fun with it. “I think a lot of people are actually having fun out of it… it was just, I didn’t want to get myself dirty,” he said.

A reason for this move could be his ankle injury. The South Korean played the round with an injury and perhaps the swelling on his ankles made him adopt this fashion move. “I choose the wrong color, obviously, for the day, but my caddie Joe actually said he doesn’t really care what I do as long as I make birdies and eagles, so it kind of worked,” he further added.

Tom Kim continues to fire at St. Jude Championship despite nasty ankle injury

While his fashion sense might be making the headlines more, the courageous play from Tom Kim has not gone under the radar. The two-time PGA Tour winner has been dealing with an ankle injury for the past few weeks. He was seen limping at the Open Championship but continued to play through the pain. He still has not recovered fully but that did not dampen his spirits.

Kim fired a six-under 64 in the first round to make a huge statement. He was able to make birdies on seven holes and one bogey. “Yeah, played really solid for the first 13, 14 holes. Kind of had a few hiccups coming in, but no, I played really good today,” Kim said about his performance.

He would follow up this performance with a bogey-free round on Friday. A score of 68 in the second round, moved him up to tied third spot with Emiliano Grillo, Tommy Fleetwood, Taylor Moore, and Sungjae Kim. They all trail Jordan Speith in second with recent Wyndham Championship winner Lucas Glover sitting top of the leaderboard after two rounds.
