“No wonder they were so salty about LIV Golf”: Twitter bashes Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy for new ‘tour within a tour’ PGA Elite Series

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy
The controversy between the LIV Golf Series and the PGA Tour is far from over, as the Tour is now retaliating to the new format of the Series. The biggest critics of the Series, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy however, now seem to be caught under fire. The Saudi backed series caused waves in the golf world in the last few months as quite a few golfers made the shift- leading to sanctions, suspensions and even a lawsuit.
This was an obvious cause for concern for the PGA, who recently had a meeting with the top 20 golfers on the roster. The meeting, led by Woods, was crucial in discussing the future of professional golf and the Tour as a whole. While details of the meet were kept quite tight by the golfers, some new details have been coming to light recently, and a big change is expected to come.
“They would be a LIV-Like money grab”: Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy receive a lot of backlash over new series

The latest detail revealed a new format introduced by the Tour- a one that surprisingly follows the LIV Golf style format. The PGA Tour has fought fire with fire, and created their own ‘tour within a tour’ of 60 golfers with an astonishing $20 million of prize money up for grabs. Twitter however did not seem to be too happy about the new ‘Tour’.
