The LIV Golf Series has caused quite a lot of controversy since its inception, and needless to say the golfers that have joined it are facing flak. Bubba Watson has been one of the latest golfers to join the Series as he is expected to make his debut in September after recovering from his knee injury.

Watson will be an off course captain for the fourth event that is scheduled to be held in Boston. Currently ranked 86th in the world, Bubba has 14 PGA wins to his name, but has not been on course since the PGA Championship in May. “I couldn’t make this move without acknowledging that I am forever grateful for the opportunities provided to me through the PGA Tour,” Watson said according to BBC. Recently, the golfer also mentioned that he had resigned from the PGA Tour, and removed from the rankings- and twitter had a lot to say about it

Bubba Watson’s decision was criticised quite frankly by the fans and golfers alike. Public was quick to criticise him about his staunch Christian beliefs that have been ‘broken’ when he joined the LIV Series. Watson lost not only his rankings in the PGA Tour, but also long term fans of the golfer.
