The 14-club rule is one of the simplest rules in golf. Somehow, Wes Bryan somehow forgot it this time. Put simply, you have to calculate before the event starts. If you have more than 14, you just need to pull the extras and it in the dressing rooms.
However, sometimes there are some unintentional mistakes that can prove to be costly even at the professional level. Ask Wesley Bryan, who this week competed in the Sanderson Farms on Monday qualifier at Deerfield Golf Club in Mississippi.
Unfortunately, Bryan failed to make the cut. Probably a 4-stroke penalty happened because of starting the round with 15 clubs in the pocket.

Wes Bryan laughed off his mistake like a true champion

According to calculations this penalty had to be applied after his second hole because he completed all four holes despite the error. If you have more than 14 clubs, then the maximum four-shot penalty is awarded for every hole you play.
“You can go add four to my score boys,” Bryan was heard saying on the mic. However, Wes took it all in a healthy and sporting manner.
George, Wes’ brother, hilariously Tweeted, “fire the caddie,” on his social media handle. On the 10th hole, the caddie, Matt Akins, who himself was competing on Monday, withdrew and came out as a caddie for the 27-year-old.
