Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods
Golf legend Tiger Woods has been in the game for a long time, after starting his pro career at a very early age. During that time, Tiger Woods married model Elin Nordegren in 2004- a bond which eventually ended in 2010. Nodregen was earlier a model in Sweden. She started her career at the age of 20, and appeared on the Cafe Sport magazine in the summer of 2000. In 2014 Nordegren graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, with a degree in psychology – winning the Outstanding Senior award.
Nordegren was working in a clothes shop when she first met Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik. The couple hired her as a nanny for their children, a job that made her shift to the US. Tiger and Elin met for the first time at the 2001 Open Championships, after which Woods spent a year to get the couple to indtroduce Elin to him. “She had no interest in Tiger and he was OK with that. There was a big line of single golfers wanting to meet her. They were gaga over her,” said Mia Parnevik at that time according to the Sun.

In November 2003 Nodregen and Woods attended the President’s Cup tournament in South Africa together. Just after they announced their engagement as Woods proposed to her at the Shamwari Game Reserve. However, things turned sour in 2009, when it was claimed that she had an affair with New York nightclub boss Rachel Uchitel. It was said that the golf star slept with over 120 women during the time that he was married.
Woods subsequently apologised for his infidelity, as even attended sex rehab for his habits. “I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt my infidelity has caused – most of all to my wife and children,” admitted Tiger Woods later. Nordegren walked away from her marriage one of golf’s greatest ever players with £72m.
