LIV Golf Trio File Lawsuit To Play FedEx Cup Playoffs

The LIV Golf Series has once again seen itself in the limelight as 11 golfers led by Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau have filed an antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour. Three of those players, including Talor Gooch, Hudson Swafford and Matt Jones are hoping to play the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The three golfers have challenged the Tour’s suspension for violating the circuit’s policies and playing in the LIV Series league.

The suspension for the golfers took place because they played the first event of the LIV Series. The FedEx Playoffs begin next week at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, with the FedEx St Jude Invitational. The PGA Tour is all set to file a Temporary Restraining Order to stop the players from playing. The lawsuit is all set to be heard on Tuesday.

A majority of the people thought that Gooch, Swafford and Jones should be allowed to play in the LIV Series, but only by a slim margin. The debate has really sparked a variety of opinions over the past few days. The LIV Series is alleging that the PGA Tour used anticompetitive strategies against it and banned players.

Most people say that they do not care whether the players play or not. Others are not even bothered with the players in the LIV Series, saying that they do not have a good selection just as of yet.
